Can't stop thinking
By Mike Kinnaird
Please Help asks...
Hi Mike,
The thought is a very silly one, and what's worse is I know that it
isn't true, but it still pops up! (As I was typing this, for
example, `How do you know it isn't true' popped up, but I just
ignored it.) The last two weeks have been very good, and I haven't
had any issues with the thought because I've been distracted with
school (a sign that the thought is definitely losing some of it's
hold over me, as earlier this term even school couldn't distract me
from it.)
However it's now the holidays and I have very important exams coming
up, and I'm worried about being on my own and stuck in the house for
so long because when I'm on my own the thought does tend to pop up
and I can't shake it, and this in turn stops me from being able to
revise which makes me even more stressed and so makes the thought
and the anxiety worse.
Should I just continue on with trying to revise and try and ignore
the thought if this happens? Or should I just ignore the worry that
this might happen in the first place? (I'm such an over-thinker
haha!) Read more
How to stick to your New Year's resolutions
By Mike Kinnaird
-
© Avital Gertner
Do you want to finally be able to stick to your New Year's resolutions?
Do you want to look good, feel good and have plenty of energy in 2012?
We know what we want. What's seriously lacking is how to get it -- how
to lose weight, how to get ourselves to exercise, how to eat healthily
and so on. We know we should but when it comes to that critical moment
we cave...
Often, all our good intentions are crushed by the most minuscule set
back. How easily we cave!
We go around and around in circles -- attempting, failing, giving up,
getting fed up and back to another attempt which is equally doomed to
failure!
Of course, we know when our lifestyle is having bad consequences. And
every New Year our attention is focused in on our own particular
lifestyle issues. It's time for a fresh start, to put the past behind
us and look to the future. Mentally we just love the idea of a new year
for making changes... Read more
Irrational fear of zombies and other fictitious horrors
By Mike Kinnaird
Rebecca asks...
"Can you help, I'm 20 and ever since I was 16 and watched Nightmare
on Elm Street for my high school exams, I constantly think Freddie
Krueger will come for me. There's no pattern and thoughts just
appear -- I try to distract myself but I end up in one room of my
house on my own with my son too scared to move.
A midwife put me on the mental health list but they couldn't do
anything. Doctors won't help; they just keep saying it will go with
time, but its not going. Please help if you can -- I can't live any
more days in fear."
There are lions
The way your mind reacts to danger is primitive... that's important to
understand. So when you get immersed into a scary movie and imagine
yourself as a victim of Freddie, your mind reacts in a way to protect
you as if the danger was real -- like if you saw a lion in real life.
The more immersed into the movie you get, the more you suspend reality,
the greater the response. Read more
How do I start meditating?
By Mike Kinnaird
Ariel asks...
"How do I start meditating?"
Meditation is a very simple thing. It's about choosing attention and
being aware, and the simple practice centers you in your true self so
that you don't get lost in identification with thoughts.
There's lots of different methods for meditation but the one I
recommend is to "listen." All you do is listen for the next thought,
that is all. Try it now for 5 seconds and you'll see that with enough
intensity of focus, thoughts stop.
So that is all you need to do. The more you do it, the better you get
and the more rooted in your center. Finding 30 minutes a day to sit and
be quiet and listen is optimal. Doing this will rapidly disentangle you
from the monkey mind and identification with all that noise...

Confused about happiness
By Mike Kinnaird
-
© Lauren Rushing
It's so easy these days to drown in the ocean of conflicting and
misleading health information.
It's so easy to be confused about happiness and lose sight of the BIG
stuff.
But health and happiness is about a FEW ideas pursued with dogged
persistence...
Those few ideas are the six lifestyle elements in Habit Guide. These
are the things, that unless you are CONSCIOUS of them, and make them
habits, will be missing in your life and that's going to have a
negative drip, drip effect on your health and happiness... Read more

Enter your search keyword(s) and the keyword "zorgium" into the search input field of

Heads up: There's an ongoing spamdexing of Google searchbot algorithms. Sites that are 'copies of copies' and cloaked sites which include Zorgium keywords presented to search engine crawlers yet garbage content presented to human visitors were hosted on thousands of IP addresses and domains registered immediately after the introduction of Zorgium in November of 2009. The Hostgator/'The Planet'/Softlayer datacenters in Texas seem to be the epicenter of this activity in conjunction with anonymously registered domains of various TLD's but primarily .info domains at Godaddy which, in our opinion, has some sort of connection to the domains of goldmint.in and goldmint.org. Google has begun to notice this and has begun to lower the ranking of these sites and put our original sites back on top of the search rankings. These actions, as far as we can tell, negatively impact the use of the keyword 'zorgium' as a search term and provided little benefit, if any, to the perpetrators.
ZORGIUM note to content providers: If you don't want your page to appear in Zorgium's search abstraction then put an exclusion for "Zorgium" in your web server's robots.txt file.
